Saturday: Decluttering Your Health Routine
Your wellness routine should feel like support — not stress. Yet many people layer on supplements, workouts, and diets until their routine becomes a full-time job. Minimalist wellness means removing the noise so what’s left actually works.
The Paradox of Choice
Psychologist Barry Schwartz coined the “paradox of choice” — the more options we have, the less satisfied and more anxious we become (Schwartz, 2004). The same applies to health. You don’t need ten habits; you need the right few.
Simplify to Strengthen
- Do an audit: List everything you’re doing “for your health.” Cross out anything that feels forced or joyless.
- Keep 3–5 pillars: Focus on what’s truly effective — movement, nutrition, rest, stress management, and connection.
- Automate where possible: Prep meals, schedule workouts, and use reminders to reduce decision fatigue.
The Takeaway
Decluttering your wellness routine is an act of clarity. When you focus on fewer, more meaningful actions, your energy — and results — multiply.
