Longevity & Vitality Week

Thursday – The Importance of Mobility
Mobility is the missing link in most longevity plans. As we age, we lose flexibility, joint range of motion, and coordination — not because of aging itself, but because we stop moving.
Mobility keeps tissues hydrated, joints lubricated, and muscles firing efficiently. It’s not just about stretching; it’s about controlled movement through range. Think dynamic warmups, stability drills, and rotational patterns that mimic real life.
Studies show older adults who maintain flexibility and balance have lower fall risk and greater independence (Cohen et al., J Aging Phys Act, 2016). Add 10 minutes daily of mobility work — ankles, hips, thoracic spine, and shoulders.
Move well, move often, and your body will pay you back with years of function.
